What would happen to force them to *not* pull it off? A million crack dealer march on Ford Field?

Detroit has such a negative image, much of it deserved. As a life long detroit area guy, it would be nice to see some positive press... and it would also be nice to then turn that postive press into a revitalization. Not counting on it, but it would be nice.

I've heard a lot about Detroit's image, and while like you said, most of it is deserved, I don't think anything CAN happen during the SB. It's only going to be there for like 2 weeks.

should still be a nice opportunity for the city even if it is short-lived, maybe they'll get it back in the future if all goes well

I think a massive blizzard could cause a lot of problems. I also worry that transportation is going to be a major issue. There isn't exactly a good public system to move large numbers around, and I think people are going to get a bit pissy if they have to walk all the way from Cobo, where most of the NFL Experience stuff is occurring I believe, to Ford Field.

I hope they get it right, but I just have this gut feeling something is going to make it a fiasco. I wish it had been there a year earlier so I could at least experience whatever does happen in the city.

The media bitched a lot about having to be 5-6 miles from the stadium in Jacksonville last year. Gonna be funny when they're 20-30 miles away this year somewhere out in Oakland County.

Exactly. I know they've put up some new hotels and everything, but I just can't see it being enough to handle the crowd associated with a Super Bowl. If it actually gets cold and snows, that's going to be the biggest story leading into the game.

But outside of Detroit, who really knew that was even happening?
