the only album i ever had was the one with interstate love song on it. i picked up thank you this summer and have been pleasantly suprised with how good some of the songs are. i was always a fan but never beyong what i heard around.
my favorites are probably tripping on a hole, lady picture show and big bang baby.

i listened to Purple tonight for one of the first times in awhile...one of my favorite bands...actually were my very favorite til pearl jam took their spot a few years ago...weiland is probably my favorite vocalist
you for sure need their first 4 c_b....the last one is ok, but the others are must haves IMO

You should get Tiny Music. It's the album with all three of those songs on it, and it's definitely their best.

It's one of my favorite albums by any artist. I can usually listen to it all the way through.

Does anybody remember when Plush first became popular and the whole world compared STP to Pearl Jam? God, that was crazy. Not to mention completely unfounded -- the two bands sound nothing alike.
I like STP; the group had some talent and its ashame they imploded from the drug problems to the ego problems. Love it or hate it, I still think Core (their first album) is a staple of early 90's rock and is a very solid debut album.

Cool band. I still bump Core every once in a while.
Interesting tidbits from Wikipedia:
"Scott Weiland and Robert DeLeo met at a Black Flag concert in Long Beach, California and discovered that they were dating the same woman. They got to know each other, rather than fight over the woman, who eventually fled to Texas; the two moved into her old San Diego apartment and started playing together. Robert got his brother Dean DeLeo to join their jamming sessions and also found Eric Kretz, who was then with another band, to play drums."
"They changed the band's name to Shirley Temple's Pussy after seeing the STP Motor Oil Company logo, but ended up changing it because of pressure from the record label. Wanting to keep the band's initials, they came up with Stone Temple Pilots."
"After the "Plush" video appeared on MTV, showing the band through a distorted lens, many supposed Scott Weiland and Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder were the same person. The still long-haired Vedder reported receiving messages complimenting him on his new short, red hairdo."

Core is horrible.
well, he did say that, but he mentioned tiny music is good, so it's the same as me saying ten is horrible. he's just commenting on one album, and i don't even have that one, so i can't defend it.
