With talk of the new tour, I'm pretty excited about popping my PJ cherry. My only concern is whether I should get inebriated or not. Some of my best PJ moments have been roaringly drunk, arms around your mates, screaming along to Ten and Vs; or stoned with Live On Two Legs, dancing around like a mad fool, then chilling with Yield, and so on.

I've had some pretty good wrecked times seeing bands at festivals, and I usually have a couple of smokes and a drink if I'm seeing a band at a club or arena date, but I'm worried I might miss something. I probably won't, but what if? Has anyone with experience of this sort of thing any advice? I'm going to be going to at least 4/5 shows when they get over here if that makes it easier to suggest shit.

If you've never seen them live, I wouldn't get too drunk. Actually pj concerts are the only ones I really try not to drink too much at.

A nice bowl and a couple/few beers, and you'll be golden.

I've had a few beers before the Kitchener show and I must say it really helped me, because I was waaaaayyyyy too nervous to enjoy the show. The beers kinda settled me down, as did the preset. From then on I was certain I was going to see PJ. It was just like 'Hey Angus, here they are, they aren't gonna cancel this time, enjoy the moment'.

So I would say: have a few beers. But certainly not too much!

I could smell someone doing drugs at the Winnipeg show around my area. That annoyed the fuck outta me.

Don't drink cuz you aren't going to want to piss during the show. Pearl Jam concerts are religious experiences for me and a bathroom break would kill the mood.

We prefer calling it 'smoking weed'. 'Doing drugs' sounds a little extreme. I'm sure they weren't smoking crack.

And what do you expect? It's a rock concert.

This is the #1 reason I don't drink too much at pj shows. I'll only pray for Glorified G when my bladder's exploding.

Hey.. guys..

I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard rumors that some people smoke marijuana cigarettes at concerts.

Now, that might just be all talk, but if it isn't.. well then I'm seriously ashamed.

I really would recommend staying sober. I feel stupid saying this, but PJ is a natural high for me. You won't need anything else man. Honest.

I've been to a handfull of shows, each time different. For instance, first night of Melbourne '03..drunk. 2nd night..stoned. 3rd night..sober. They were all awsome!!

Altho too much beer..5 songs in and your like loo break! thats annoying!
