Lets Go Rangers!
Mess' retirement is this Thursday- gonna be very cool at The Garden !
That was a good pickup. He should do well playing with a whole bunch of fellow countrymen... Jagr, Rucinsky, Straka, and Prucha are all from the Czech Republic.

I don't think hockey is sufficiently popular enough to warrant individual team threads as of yet....and the Sabres will beat their ass.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Rangers rookie Petr Prucha won't be able to play for the Czech Republic at the Olympics because of a knee injury that will sideline him three to four weeks.
The 23-year-old right wing sprained his right knee Saturday in New York's 4-3 overtime victory at Philadelphia that put the Rangers (32-15-8 ) in first place this late in a season for the first time since 1996.
Prucha, a big reason for the team's success, left the arena Saturday on crutches and in tears. He was hurt during a knee-on-knee hit by Philadelphia's Turner Stevenson with 5:33 remaining in the second period.
Prucha was an eighth-round pick in the 2002 draft. He has 25 goals, including 12 on power plays, and nine assists in his first 49 NHL games.
That was enough to land him a spot on the Cezch Olympic team, along with housemate Jaromir Jagr and three other Rangers. The hockey tournament at the Torino Games begins Feb. 15.
Only Alexander Ovechkin, Marek Svatos and Sidney Crosby have scored more goals among first-year players. No one in the NHL has a better shooting percentage than Prucha's 26.3
only 3-4 weeks for Petr.
Not too terrible couldve been alot worse. Sorry he'll miss the Olympics, but oh well- its good for the Rangers.

In lieu of Petr Prucha injury, I heard on MSG that the NYRs may bring up Jarkko Immonen. ( * 5' 11 " , 205 lbs, shoots right, from Finland ) This guy was aquired in the Brain Leetch trade. He plays center- forward, and supposebly has a great faceoff percentage.
*He also recently broke a Wolfpack record and scored 5 goals in one game. We all know injuries are the short-comings for 1 guy while it is an oppurtunity for another. Lets hope he can do some damage. (* this was in his most recent Wolfpack game, the other day .*)
Prucha has been unseen as they are saying he is still too emotional to face the media. Kinda strange as this guy is always the tenacious, get up and go type of guy.
This waiting for the next game is brutal.
AT least during the 2 week layoff , we'll have olympic hockey to watch.
Faceoffs continue to be a concern, with the aformentioned Pittsburgh Penguins being the only team with a lower faceoff percentage then the NYRs.
next up, the Dominator. Lets hope we shatter his wall around the net.
