How the fuck does Michael Irvin not get in again? I HATE the Cowboys and yet I'm starting to believe the conspiracy against them.
At least Harry Carson got in but Irvin being denied is ridiculous.
no Derrick Thomas equals FUCKING ridiculous. the guy had 20 sacks in a season 7 in one game, 6 in another, and 127.5 over a 10 year career.
I think Thomas will get in soon enough, he's a no-brainer. But Irvin is a legend. Name 3 WR's besides Jerry Rice in the 90's that were better than him. Fuck it, throw in the 80's too. He was the most important piece on that team. 3 fucking Super Bowls. Nobody could cover him! He beat the hell out of cornerbacks and was one of the first WR's to out-jump guys to get underthrown balls. Sure the guy is a douche and has drug problems but that doesn't take away anything he did on the field. I'm just baffled by the whole thing

Yes Irvin should get in,especially when Aikman made it.
it's about time Harry Carson got in. The guy was elected to 9 pro-bowls...and was named first- or second-team All-Pro six times. I'd say he's deserving.
For those annoyed at Irvin and Derrick Thomas not getting in...they'll likely get in at some point.

I think Irvin should get in, but I wouldn't put him that far ahead of his peers. There were certainly several WR's on his level during that period. Tim Brown, Andre Reed, and Cris Carter come to mind...and even Sterling Sharpe before he got hurt. I'd have to look up the #'s...but I also remember guys like Herman Moore and Rison being dominant during that era...although they may not have had the same amount of great seasons Irvin had.

I put him way ahead of all those guys. Not only does he have the 3 rings(only Rison has a ring out of the guys you named), but he was better than all of them. Much better

there's no way he was "much better" than Cris Carter or Andre Reed. And I wouldn't use rings as a barometer to judge WR's.

Why not? he put up good numbers, The rings just make it that more obvious
At least Rayfield FINALLY got in... fucking Cowboys bias
only a Dallas fan would claim "Cowboys bias" on a day when two Cowboys get elected to the HOF.

Who the fuck does Andre Tippett have to blow to get in? He was the second best OLB of his era and the only one who was better is considered by many to be the best LB ever (LT).
The fact that Madden just got in despite the 2nd best winning percentage by a coach in history should be a sign that maybe I shouldn't take this too seriously...

Bingo.
I was shocked when I saw his name on the paper headlines-- I didn't realize he wasn't already inducted years ago.
And Clubber-- dude-- Irvin was key, but that team was all about Emmitt. And you know this.
That said, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame ASAP for his accomplishments.
A lot of this stuff I'm sure is schmoozing and politics. You can bet Brett Favre will be inducted at the earliest opportunity, because, well, everybody just loooves Brett Favre. He's a good Southern boy. And I say this as a die-hard Packers fan and a die-hard Brett fan.
