The kids.

They're growing up, being exposed to basic truths and philosophies that are beautiful in essence but brutally exploited by others, whose sole basis of power is the exploitation of these truths for their own ends.

The basic grounds of every civilization come from peace. Violence does not survive in the long term, and I think this is mostly to do with the fact that if you present people with a choice between being, for want of better terminology, good or bad, then they'll mostly always choose good, as long as it isn't much more effort. Some people are intrinsically good, loving and caring. Some people enjoy being able to give. Some people would feel guilty if they did something bad. There are always a small amount of people who won't do the good thing, though. It starts off that they need to get people onboard their side. So they prey on others.

These kids could go anywhere in life. Many of them won't. Maybe some will be insecure. They'll want to do their part, for what they believe in. They'll want to impress people. If you strip away layers of motivation, everything will come back to either getting something for yourself, whether it be an object or emotion, or for the benefit of someone else and, when exposed to the modern world, this leads to a potentially disastrous situation.

The world is changing faster than ever before, society is homogenising. The West has freedoms - of speech, of faith, of conscience. Other parts of the world aren't so fortunate, but that is changing, reverting back to freedom. Freedom is how man is born. But that does not mean that man is not free to choose. Kids are going to want to choose where to go in life. And everywhere they are being offered easy answers. Answers that will make life better, maybe for them, maybe for everyone. But it seems that all the answers are leading towards violence, and success at the expense of others. Whether it be energy at the expense of the environment, power at the expense of other people's freedom, someone's life for your religion or money for nothing, I see young people being exposed to nothing encouraging them to be loving, good people.

I said that people will instinctively choose the good option, if it's not being made much effort. But the bad options are just rolling past and everyone seems to be along for the ride. I know I turned out alright, and most other people who didn't buy into the bullshit did too, but it seems to be getting progressively worse.

How, after thousands of years of civilzation have we got to the point where kids were signing up to die for a lie? Being fooled into thinking they're protecting their loved ones or guaranteeing them a place in Heaven. Being fooled into thinking it's macho or brave or clever to take what's not yours.

These young people and those manipulating them with their sick take on beautiful ideas are what will fuck up humanity.
