With December almost here, it occurred to me last night that the band hasn't sent out the first of its twice-yearly fan club newsletter. It's not been a banner year for the tenclub at all. No that I'm complaining. Or did I just miss mine in the mail altogether?

Anyway, does anyone know how the fanclub is going to handle this misstep? After all, we did pay good money for these services.

And yes, I realize we got one back in the spring, but that was the second 2003 newsletter.

Was the newspaper, book review style newsletter the first for this year or the second of 2003?

You got the second of the "calendar year" (which is actually January through December of any year). The first 2003 one was received before you joined.

And yeah, I feel a little neglected in not receiving any at all for the 2004 calendar year, though in the past we've received just one...and perhaps that's been the delay in getting the site back up? They've been hard at work on the singles and newsletters so no time for the website? Just a stab at some hope. Please don't crush it just yet....

regardless of whether your membership year follows the calendar year, you should still receive 2 newsletters.

I have not even thought of a Christmas single. Maybe because it seems like we just got last years.

Maybe they need to hire some help at the ten club. Where do I sign up?

Here's an idea they could try to make up for the lack of newsletters this year... how about a double 10" X-Mass single? Four songs on each 10" disc.
IT CAN BE DONE, THEY HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!

I only joined this year and I'm starting to wonder what have I got out of it so far? Nothing, apart from a membership card, and a A4 piece of coloured paper acting as a poster in the Benaroya CD.

I don't even have a record player, I think I'll hang the singles on my wall.

it is bit strange. i have to say id like to see something NEW on the XMAS single. not just a live cover song from the past tour. i would imagine something from the ramones trib show might make it on there, which is cool, but something new, done SPECIFICALLY for the XMAS single would be nice. just a nice thanks for all of us supporting the greatness of The Pearl Jams. (remember how fucking COOL the newsletters and xmas singles used to be?)

they seem to be really tied up with the site (i hope thats whats going on anyway), so that is understandable. but no announcements have been made at all about a newsletter or xmas single.

but i have faith!

Its apart of the "goods/renewal" brochure. Its not much of a membership card. Just a piece of paper that you write your name in.

I thought I saw on pearljam.com in the news section where you could sign up for the newsletter. I should have went back and checked before posting this. I could be wrong. That is what I thought I saw.

That's the e-mail newsletter, is it not?

The USPS mail newsletter is different.
