I just finished reading a german article about the history of PJ and the writer says that before changing the bandname to Pearl Jam they were called "Mookie Blaylock" (we all know that´s true) and later Reenk Roink (which I never ever heard)...Could this be true ? I doubt it cause there are other wrong "facts" in the article

Staright from PJ Discography -
"Ultra rare US Full Album Promo Test Pressing, blank disc with no sleeves.
A very limited number of CDs came with a handwritten sleeve ("Reenk Roink1" & "Reeenk Roink2"). Supposedly made by Vedder and Ament."

from 5H...allegedly there are less than 10...allegedly.
Never fear, vinyl haters, there are also rare CD's in the collector's book. The first on the list is the infamous "Reenk Roink" CD, which was a first run pressing copy of "Ten" that was hand-decorated by the band (Jeff and Ed seem to have shared chores) and handed out to clubs, radio stations, etc. (Check these out on pjdiscography.com - the first listing in this category.) These are super-rare; there were allegedly only 10, but I've seen more than that turn up on eBay over the past few years. There are probably no more than two dozen. You need to be VERY CAREFUL that you are buying a real one, and not a fake, as I've seen several questionable examples of this CD float around. If you're in the market for one of these, get to know what they are supposed to look like by watching and not bidding on some auctions. Ask around, see if people on a mailing list or BBS have one that they can scan for you. These are super-pricey, but if you know what you are doing, you can pick on up for as little as $100. However, they have gone as high as $500. This is my favorite collectible; it's like holding a piece of Pearl Jam history in your hand.
There are about 25 of these from what I can tell from research...The band never intended 'reenk'roink' as a name and it was never considered...it was a joke among them in the studio during the recording of TEN...The tyvek sleeves were hand written by ed and jeff, and were done in the two styles shown in the link..That said, I have heard rumors that the ONLY ones that are legit are the ones that were written in the shape of a circle..The others are believed to be fakes, but it has never been proven, as the only ones that seem to be in any collections, are the circular ones. I got mine from a guy that was given one directly from ed. The cds themselves are blank, and contain the album version of TEN, no extras....It is beleived that a box of these were given to the band to hand out to friends and anyone who would play it...radio or what-not..I know mine is real, because when Jeff Ament signed it, he confirmed it and the story....I hope the same holds true for you GH...How much longer anyway...pm the $$ that dude help you up for...any other questions??
a store nearby....wont divulge anything til in posession and you will see a new thread with some nice pics and huge smiley faces...
i knew to never look for reenk roink either....i knew it wouldn't be worth the time to search every unlabeled cd in every cd store ive been too....i never dwelled, and never dreamed of finding it...
and i just happened to bump into it. so if you plan on hunting - i wish you a ton of good luck.
