Hey guys...

I *ahem* bought a signed guitar by all members of PJ for hubby as an early xmas present.

He LOVES it and is tickled to death!!

I am not going to say which auction cuz it's damn embarrassing to say how much I paid for it.

Now it's starting to bother me - do the guys really sign guitars?? Because I am starting to notice a lot more guitars showed up on ebay.

I had COA mailed to me as well... and the signatures look pretty real to me, too.

Umm.....well, he loves that guitar. :) He's been playing it all the time now!

I am just wondering....

*prepares to be bashed or called names*

Thank you for that link, I appreciate it. :)

I emailed the seller with more questions - hopefully she would still answer my questions, she was very helpful even after the auction ended.

lol probably had to stay nice as long as she could. ;)

Like I said, it looks pretty real to me and hubby really loves it so much.

I guess I just got to know FOR SURE.

Sure I would rather have it signed by the band personally - that means a whole lot more.

I just wanted to get him his first electric guitar and I thought a signed PJ guitar would be a cool one. :)

Thanks again!

Peace.

Hahahaha

I know.... people freaked out when hubby told them he plays it. :)

He said it feels GREAT playing it!

That's why I bought it... so he can play it!

Oh what a sight!

:)

Of course he plays with it with great care. We're going to look for a case to keep it safe and in good condition.

Why not play it if we don't plan to sell it???

It's his to keep and he can play it if he wants to!

Man, you got so ripped off. What is it? A Squier? :D

These COA's could be printed by anyone as well for the autographs... Do you really think some guy walks in with a Fender and all the members will sign it? And moreover there will be a COA printed for you?
Apart from this it could have been given away in some contest and they don't give cheap ass guitars like that away. I mean if it's a real Fender, it might be the real deal, but if it's a Squier or a Fender "made in Mexico" you can say you wasted a lot of cash...
How much did you pay for it?

Now I bet you are going to look it up. *sigh*

Oh, why did I even say anything....

*whimpers, stutters* Hubby r-r-r-eally likes it....

Yeah, but the true point is that someone bought a $100 guitar, put some autographs on it and sells it for $400.

Why do you buy it first and then ask if it's real? Should have gone the other way 'round...

I did... and was convinced they were telling me the truth.

Then I just noticed there were more guitars on eBay, then I just started wondering, you know?

That's why.

Hey!! I was just feeling better, so don't ruin it for me.

edit: damn it, I spelled convinced wrong! :)

Ok... I just took a few pictures.

Zjoske - since you would flatly out tell the truth despite it would crush my feelings, I'd like you to take a look at those signatures and tell me what you think.

If you think these are fake - I'd never tell my husband.

I'd take it to my grave.

Ok, here are a few pictures I took.

i don't know anything about their sigs so i can't say. btw who's sig is that supposed to be in the 2nd pic?

Personally I wouldn't buy any autographed item unless I saw it be signed or knew who got it signed. I saw something on tv a few years ago about ppl selling fake autgraphs at events and stores even with COA's. Did the seller say where she got it? I've never seen anything signed by the band but would Eddie put 'Pearl Jam' at the end?

Not trying to piss on yer parade, if yer hubby is stoked and likes playing it then that's all that matters, right? Isn't it the thought that counts?

Right.... I am wondering the same thing.

It looks like Mike's signature in the 2nd picture.

Yeah hubby really loves it, and that is all it matters.

But at the same time, I really want to know.

The seller told me that some guy got it signed in Seatlle and didn't want to release his name. Supposedly he was also in a band and got the guitar signed by the band.

I wouldn't have bought it if hubby didn't have an electric guitar to own. This is the first electric guitar he has ever owned and I thought I'd make it a special one. :)

He has an old acoustic guitar that he plays all the time and he'd borrow the electric guitar from my mom whenever he wants to play or needed to practice for his band.

Ahh well...

At the time there was like only 2 signed guitars that I saw on eBay so I thought it was pretty rare, but then about a month later I am seeing more guitars popping all over and I begun to wonder.

You were wondering yourself if it was a fake, I was only replying with my opinion. Didn't wanna hurt your feelings, as long as your husband is happy with it...
I don't know anything about the autographs, but the fact that is signed on a cheap guitar and the fact that there are many guitars/other autographed stuff around on eBay says enough to me...
They must be full time autographers if you ask me. Where do they find the time to write songs? :?

Nah, no feelings hurt.

it didn't look like a cheap guitar to me either.

But yeah, I do see your point of view, though.

hahaha - full time autographers!!! You kill me! :)

I honestly have no idea if they really signed it or not.... so I guess I'll just give this a rest and just enjoy it.

But I won't buy another one again - not unless it came from a charity organization or Pearl Jam members themselves.

Thanks for sharing your opinions.

people could just be reselling them all the time. There's no indication that every time one is listed that it's a "new" one
