Go to Wal Mart or Target and they're only $25
i dont go to walmart
Well I guess you'll spend the extra ten dollars. Not my money.
i'm rereading the first 4 books and then reading the last 3. i love this series... definitely one of the best written works in years. hopefully someday stephen king will receive the credit he deserves for writing this epic.

i read black house before wolves of the calla came out and when roland was mentioned near the end of that book i nearly creamed my pants. i think i will go back and reread the related books just for moments like that. yes, because i like nearly creaming my pants.

I'm about halfway through Wolves of the Calla right now. I just bought V, VI and VII all on hardcover with coupons from Borders. 25% off = roughly $28 for Wolves w/tax and SoS was only $30 so it was less than $25 w/tax.
VII was 30% off the day it came out, so it was $28 or so w/tax. They're worth it, I think.

You really ought to read the related stories before you finish. It will enlighten the tale...especially Insomnia, Black House (reading The Talisman first would help here), Hearts In Atlantis, and "Everything's Eventual" & "Little Sisters of Eluria" from Everything's Eventual.

i started it this morning. im 50 pages in and, to be honest, have only a vague clue at what is happening.
the man in black has just walked into the restaurant. is this before or after the gunslinger was in there? i cant tell if its a flashback from the woman or not...
pretty confusing so far, but i'll force my way through it...

I love the Dark Tower Series. I read the First three when I was in High School. And read the whole series Straight thru about a year ago. I couldnt get into Dark house, I loved the Talisman though. Hearts in Atlantis was great too.

the gunslinger is really the best book of the lot, confusing as it is. enjoy this one, because it's more or less downhill from here.

No.
The Stand is the best thing that King has ever written.
Wizard and Glass is the best book out of the The Dark Tower series.
Wrong. Wrong wronf wrong. The Drawing of the Three is the best thing king has ever written.

both book two and three are quite good, and four is above average as well. Still, none of them have the oomph of book one, and after book four, it's downhill with a bullet.

book 4 is my favorite of the series, i thought book 5 was great as well and don't know why people rag on it, book 6 is definitely weak, book 7 has lots of things that pissed me off immensely (won't spoil it for those who haven't gotten there yet but i'm sure the rest of you know what i'm talking about) but it also had some of the greatest parts of the whole series so it evens out a little bit. overall i loved the series tremendously, i read every book back to back to back over the course of last summer and it was a great reading experience.
