Thierry Henry won Arsenal last night's Champion's League tie, away to Real Madrid.

I actually had a tenner on Real to take the match, I didn't expect that injury-ridden team to topple Madrid, unbeaten in La Liga this season, and never beaten on home turf by an English team.

I'm sure Hallucination will be down to celebrate soon.

Great game. Arsenal decided to go out and play, and why not when you have Henry, Reyes, Ljungberg and Fabregas?

No Sol, no Ashley, no Pires, no Lauren, no Bergkamp, no Van Persie...

What a result. Hope we can shut them out at Highbury.

So remind me again, how EXACTLY are Arsenal an English team? A team that fields 11 foreigners and has a foreign manager is not English. Madrid were more English than L'arse, at least they have the England Captain, Dave Beckham. Does it not bother you Gooners at all that your entire team is foreign?

I am, how did you guess? Still, I think it's a good point. How exactly are L'arse an English team?

No. Six major trophies since Wenger arrived with a fairly tightarse boardroom and chairman. Could not have done that buying English players. What have Spurs won in the meantime? Virtually none. And how much money have they spent? Plenty more than Arsenal.

But still... the only trophy they really, really want... well, they haven't even been close. United did that with most own youth players...

Anyway, good game of Arsenal, but too soon to write off Real.

I'm off watching Chelski - Barça. May justice be done and may Chelski crash out in the most painful, humiliating way possible. I'm not happy with anything less than 0-5...

Hardly any of the top teams in Europe consists of mainly players from the club's country anymore. The only exception might be Athletic Bilbao in Spain, who only fields players from their region. But all the Spanish, Italian, English and German teams in the CL now have mainly foreign players on the team.

I sure hope they impose the "max 5 foreigners on a team"-rule. A team should have more homebred players than foreign ones.

*luck.

Yes, but chances are, they won't have much space to move around at Highbury and they'll get frustrated.

Half time.

Chelsea (pitch, mentality) is a disgrace for football. It's sad that, if you have so much quality in your squad, that you must think in the first place of not letting the opponent play football. Del Horno... you bastard!

Barcelona = best team in Europe right now, even if Chelsea was a man down in the second half. Messi must have opened the eyes of those who doesn't follow Argentinian or Spanish football. He was a reveleation tonight. And he's only 18.

Chelsea-Barcelona 1-2

1-0 59 Motta(own goal)
1-1 71 Terry(own goal)
1-2 81 Eto'o

Absolutely deserved.

Barça wasn't awarded a clear penalty for an obvious foul by Terry on Messi.

There was a situation in the first half too. But Terry just jumped all over Messi in the second half, but at least they got their two goals before the end of the game.

True. Should be enough for Barça.

I can't wait to hear/read what José will have to say.

He would only comment on the first 35 minutes of the match. After that, the match wasn't fair. And he insinuated that Messi dived when Del Horno was sent off. Mourinho is a jerk, but at least he's an entertaining jerk :)

Definitely didn't dive, but his acting rivalled Robben's in that Liverpool game. Should've been a yellow, but Del Horno should've collected a first yellow for an earlier knee into Messi, so the red was a fair result.

Terry kept the side in the game, and Makelele was magnificent in the first half. Without them, it would've been 6-1.

Absolutely hilarious

Quote:
Jose Mourinho pointed an accusing finger at Barcelona's Lionel Messi after Asier del Horno was sent off in Chelsea's Champion League defeat.
Mourinho said after 10-man Chelsea lost 2-1: "It was not a red card. The kid Messi is not just a very good footballer. He is more than that.

"He jumps and he provoked the contact with Del Horno, who is then sent off.

"I don't think I can talk about the game after that it was not a proper game, but I'm proud of my players."

Mourinho added: "When it was 11 against 11 it was a very good game with two teams thinking tactically, with not many mistakes and not many chances.

"I am not annoyed with Del Horno. He came in to cover for a tackle, he goes for the ball but doesn't touch the ball.

"Messi jumps on him and then rolls and rolls and rolls, so I don't want to say too much more except I am proud of my team."
