Note--actual news appears on page 6-stip

I thought this deserves its own thread until proven false or not and can be moved to another thread later.

According to zumajed over at BRY forums. (take it for whatever it's worth)

"at 1 pm a press release will be published with full details on the album and all the associate horah that will support it. from what I was told by a J records employee, they are really excited and plan on putting a full press and promotions effort behind the release. And I said it before but I'll just reiterate, my morning jacket will be the tour support."

when we get the official news, i suggest someone puts up a counter on the main page that counts back to something, like the release date, or the first show or something. i don't know if it's been done in the past here at rm, but i think it would be cool.

NICE!

And I think the thread title should be changed, since it's got an actual inkling of real news, as opposed to the other thread.

not to mention this italian article translated through bablefish

Pearl Jam, new indiscretions: date of escape of the album and others Italian dates

The wait for the Pearl Jam grows unstoppable that, as well as in study how much from the alive one, is next to the large one re-enters in scene. They are multiplied and they are stirred, consequently, advances and indiscretions on what it promises to become the event rock of the year, to four years from "Riot act" (2002): ricapitoliamo and we integrate with fresh news, therefore, how much already partially brought back some days before on Rockol (v. News).
On the forehead of the album, the official escape has been confirmed: the new disc of the Pearl Jam will come published the 28 opens them and will exit for Sony BMG on label J Records. The band, however, some day would be being been reserving still in order to attribute to the title definitive it to just the eighth record episode in study: "Worlwide suicide" - that it is also the title first it of the single one, than between the other will enter in wireless spin in the United States from next 8 March - it seems to conserve the greater possibilities, but it has not been still of the all discarded most exotic "Avocado", whose eventual chosen it in perhaps would still have an impact also on the diagram of the cover (anch'). To the tracking list partial already published on these pages ("Severed hand", "Worldwide suicide", "Life wasted", "Unemployable", "Parachutes", "Comatose"), than peach from a pieces some thirty new written from the band, we are in a position to adding like sure also others two brani: "Inside job" (whose lyric they speak about the process of inner increase and desire to improve itself that it just derives watching within same himself) and "Marker in the sand"; "Cold confession", instead, is given between the ` papabili'.
On the forehead of the tour, the world-wide debut will happen in the 9 United States next May: the announcement of the city attends prechoice. And Italy? Contrarily to the most recent spifferi, the arrival of Vedder and companions would have to slip from the first days of september to the half of the month but their permanence could extend very from the two dates initially preventivate six show. If the information in our possession were confirmed, the Pearl Jam would be exhibited to Milan, Bologna, Verona, Pistoia, Rome and Naples, with a pair of ` day off' during the tour Italian.

Yeah, there's nothing new in that article, and reading teh Babbefish translation makes my head hurt.

Let's try to keep the OLD news in the OLD threads.

Nothing new? It says the US tour starts May 9th. It confirms 3 more songs for the album as well as 'Avocado' as the b-side for WWS. Also it confirms 6 dates in Italy in September and an album release for April 28 in Italy. Your right, nothing new!

It's only confirmed when the Pearl Jam camp confirms it. Until then, it's all hearsay.

My Morning Jacket - hmmmmmm.
They are booked for at least two summer festivals in June but that wouldn't necessarily be a conflict. They did just cancel a Europe tour in January due to health problems with their singer which they have promised to reschedule. But that doesn't disprove the rumor either.

I have to say that if this is true, it would be amazing. MMJ is fucking awesome.

The only thing that seems strange is that MMJ has really gained some clout over the last 2 years - they are pretty big time right now and are just about at the point where they should be headlining their own major tours. However, enlisting such a critically acclaimed band that is also generating commerical buzz makes sense if Pearl Jam is really trying to do heavy promotion for this new album.

I pray this rumor is true because God knows PJ has a knack for hiring awful bands to tour as the support act. I know, just my opinion but seriously, a lot of their openers suck.

I love MMJ and I think it would make A LOT of sense for them to open for Pearl Jam. Right now MMJ is at a certain level. They can sell out the 2,000 seat type of place pretty well anywhere in the US. IF they want to take another step, they need more exposure. I dont see radio play as an option for them. Creating a following even deeper than it already is seems like the best option. A good portion of PJ's fan base is rabid, so this same kind of support could in part form for MMJ.

Regardless I do hope the rumor is true. I have yet to see MMJ, so this would be a PERFECT scenario. I could go from not seeing them a time, to seeing them 10 times.

Well, given that the orignal question was posed by an Australian, and I am in Europe, its actually a sensible question. It is 1105 am here, so are we talking about two hours time? I think not. So, 1300 in which time zone and day?
