Ireland just ran Wales into the ground, 32-5, thanks to a last minute try by Peter Stringer and a beautiful last touch conversion. I was very impressed with Ireland's performance - they were dominated for the first fifteen minutes but once they seized the initiative Wales really never looked like coming back.

I'm back at work today with half a voice, a cold, and mild frostbite after sitting, standing, and shouting my way through Scotland's triumphant victory over the English on Saturday. Kilts were never meant to be worn when it is that cold. What a game, great performance and professionalism. The atmosphere was electric, the singing and the shouting were immense. The drink tasted sweet, I smiled for the first time and the longest time in many a month. What a weekend.
Unfortunately I will not be going to Dublin in two weeks time, I have to wait until Rome to wear the kilt and shout on the boys again.

Ugh, penalty kick after penalty kick. Wish you northern hemisphere folks would recognise those two lines down near the end of either side and actually attempt to run towards it.

That would be too easy. It's much more interesting and tense to let your opponent have the ball for eighty minutes in your own half and beat the living shit out of them every time they try to move the ball forward. Anyone can take the ball and run to the try line. But it takes real skill to let them set up camp in your own half and beat them into submission

I don't know if you saw the game last week between France and Ireland. If you think that was penalty kick after penalty kick then you need a new set of globes(ask juvenal or stuzzo,it's a NI thing).Ireland 32,wales 5.I thought I saw Ireland score 3 trys this week and 4 trys last week.Of course Aussie wouldn't try to kill a game with penalties.he he he.

Heh, I was mostly talking about the Scotish-English game. We suck at killing games with penalties cos our forwards get steamrolled anyway.
Won't forget conceding the pushover try against Wales last year for a while yet.

You're forgetting that it don't matter how you beat England, just as long as you beat the feckers.

When I flew back from Edinburgh to Amsterdam, there was a lot of English there. Actually, I saw the entire English squad. Big bunch of lads, you don't get a true perspective of how big they are until you see them close up. I'd seen Ben Cohen in Australia with the Lions in 2001 and thought he was massive. Then I saw him with Steve Thomson at the airport. Thompson is a monster of a man. Made Cohen look tiny!
I thought they rode into Edinburgh on their Chariots, and expected to ride out on them again. Lots of broken chariots with missing wheels must have necessitated the use of British Airways to carry them home to think again

I loved that series. Possibly because we had forwards then.
I've had issues with Australians ever since 2001. The country was great, but the Australian people we encountered were not so great. Bad loosers, and Bad Winners. I've been in Edinburgh, Paris, Ireland, and Wales after loosing at rugby, and those guys in Sydney were the worst. After Brisbane, the promotion of green and gold was shameless

You have to understand that if we lose at sport, well, we really have very little to crow about, other than the nice beaches. What are we going to do, offer up Russell Crowe, a kiwi tool, as our cultural figurehead?

Holly Vallance. She should be your ambassador

So, what do you reckon. Jason White's warriors to beat O'Driscolls dancers and waltzers? Place your bets. I for one think it's going to be close, but after beating France and England, and the performance against the Welsh, I got to fancy our chances. I know theres a few Irish lads around on here, what do you lads think about the game?

To go a wee bit bit Belfast on you, Z- Youse are in fer a rough ride, so youse are.
I was mightily impressed by your performance against the English (my mum's from Hull but she's curiously started supporting Irish rugby. My only problem with the Irish side is that we don't have enough Ulster boys in the team. Willie Anderson tells me this is because they won't sing the Soldier's Song but I wouldn't take that as gospel, considering it comes from a man who was arrested in Argentina for scaling a flagpole and replacing their flag with the Union Flag.
Anyway, ramble over. It'll be a tight game but we'll clinch it. Scotland are still finding themselves, and with a couple of brilliant performances behind us I can't see us losing. Sorry!

That's what I figured. My flatmate is Irish, and theres a fellow at work whos a Paddy too. The four of you are all the same. Must be an Irish characteristic. You all believe that there is absolutely no way that you are going to loose, at anything, ever. Which is fair enough, It's good to be confident. But when it borders on arrogance, like it does with the English, this becomes one of the reasons why I dislike the English collectively. Don't let this happen with you guys. Cause the Irish are alright in my book. But some days I just want to take a Guiness glass and smash it over my flatmates head
I'm optimistic, and we've got a chance, a better chance than I thought we did when the tournament started. It's a tough place to go and get a win, and could go either way. Historically Scottish teams have a great history of building our hopes up only to have them cruelly dashed. This is entirely possible at Landsdown Road.
From an entirely selfish point of view, I am going to Rome for the last game. To be going to Rome with a chance of winning the whole damn thing would just be the most extraordinary thing that my kilted adventures could take me on
