anyone actually care about these? are they really important? i'll have to work my ass off, and probably stay late tonight to deal with them.

the oscars are an excuse for overspoiled actors and actresses to congradulate themselves for doing virtually nothing artistic. It's the writers who should be gettting credit, but you never hear about them.

i like watching the red carpet stuff and laughing at the idiotic questions, like they really matter. And the canned answers are so predictable. "Its such an honoro to be nominated, all these actors are so talented. It's so hard to have a competition about art. Blah blah blah"

I'm watching for philip seymour hoffman.

Plus after watching Walk the Line the other day, i'm going to be looking for a Reese Witherspoon win. She was phenomenal in that movie.

But as soon as Hoffman walks up (or doesn't  ), the tv will be turned off.

Oh, did I mention i'm also looking forward to the "It's hard to be a pimp" performance from Hustle & flow by three six mafia? that should be... interesting.

That fact probably wouldn't bother me if there weren't 50 other indistinguishable award shows.

I might watch just for Jon Stewart's opening, and maybe the Best Picture award.

The rest of it is a waste of time.

I don't get too many opportunities to see Jon Stewart in action, so yeah.

I will watch it so that I can yell at the television when my favorite movies get completly jipped. Plus finally seeing Mark Cuban dressed up for something should be entertaining.

its all right...movies are a form of art so i dont think awards are that big of a deal.
you either like the movie or you dont.

a lot of people work hard on these movies...a lot of people. so i guess its nice for them to get some recognition and have a big party.

THe opening and closing videos were good, but did anyone thing that monologue by Stewart was REALLY below his usual standards?
