Report says two baseball stadiums plan to sell organic hot dogs and other fare in '05 season.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Organic hot dogs are getting in the game at some stadiums this coming baseball season, according to a published report.

USA Today reported that Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, and Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals, plan to test sales of organic hot dogs and bratwurst next season.

Customers are demanding what they see as higher quality food, even if it comes at a premium price, according to executives with Delaware North Companies, which handles concessions at 21 stadiums and arenas nationwide, including those two parks.

Five years ago we barely had bottled water at stadiums," said Rol Baumann, a top chef for Delaware North. "Now we've getting customers who want to see the documentation that certifies something is organic."

The company estimates the organic dogs could cost $4 each, or about $1 more than a conventional hot dog at those parks.

Organic chicken breast will also likely be sold at the Stadium Club at Busch Stadium, and organic greens and vegetables could be used in salads at Petco. The company is also looking into selling organic pretzels made by Snyder's of Hanover at a number of stadiums.

Thoughts??? My guess is that people won't notice a difference. Or if they do notice a difference, it might just be in favor of the organic doggie.

So let me get this straight. If I pay 9.50 for a beer and 5.50 for a normal foot long dog. How much is this organic dog going to cost. Aren't the prices at arenas and stadiums outrageous already.

Not eating the food in the stadium is fine with me.

I'd settle for getting a 7 dollar beer that's actually cold.
