Is horrible, and will never be taken seriously

This is actually a genre of film. Most "queer" films are nothing more than cheesy outsider/romance stories for gay people. Utterly inept and worthless.

What films are left for you to direct then?

Not really, just counting anything I've recently seen that involved some aspect of homosexuality.

Then I'll throw in Chasing Amy and Velvet Goldmine. Hell, even Pulp Fiction, by technicality.

If there was one good queer film I've seen its Hedwig and the Angry Itch. Awesome movie. A lot of this stuff is pure straight-to-video garbage though. Out of all the "minority" cinemas, like say 70s Black Cinema, Feminist Cinema, etc. its by far the worst.

I'm suprised how many are made each year. If you have On Demand, they have a whole section of Homocentric films on Pay Per View called Here. From reading the descriptions (go ahead make your jokes), they all just sound like bad romantic comedies. "Boy A becomes roomates with Boy B, to discover that they both have a very gay secret." "The Mother of a closeted homsexual female becomes supicious of her new friend."
