Just saw a cool clip of Letterman and he had Paul Shaffer trying to play Black, then Eddie shows up to sing the ending.

My question - when is it from ??

PS - so sorry if this was posted in the past.

If I remember correctly the Ramones were playing on Letterman that night and Eddie was there to see it.

That date is accurate, however your link doesn't work. Yeah, I have the clip in my sig, but it's a poor quality one. I have never seen a better one...if anyone knows of a better version, please let me know. Thanks. :)

It was from '96. Around that time, I remember Letterman singing a few lines from Black every so often. That's why Dave got so excited when Eddie came out. It was pretty cool.

I also think it was sweet how Eddie just left. 8)

another great moment with Eddie...

i wonder how it was arranged with Lettermans band and Eddie... Dave got so excited about the fact that Eddie was there... that was so emotionally cool.

I remember watching that when it happened. Dave would just start singing Black almost every night for a week and a half or so. Then Ed came out. I remember just about shittin my pants.

If I had seen that it would have been one of the most amazing TV moments of all time for me
