Two of the best musicians on Earth, and on of my favorite bands. Maybe the most versatile, experimental group in music history (or at least of the 90's). Each album has a distinct flavor all its own, and they're all rad as can be.

I love Ween.

I love them even more after seeing the Live in Chicago DVD.

Big fan of the brown...

*Cues up the hilarity that is "Pollo Asada"*

And, yes, The Mollusk is their best work -- though Chocolate and Cheese is right behind, in my opinion...

Don't forget White Pepper. I consider that one of their best. The Mollusk is a twisted masterpiece though.

No argument here -- White Pepper is a good album, their most accessible -- perhaps a good place to start for those who are curious...

I've been listening to The Shinola Vol.1 for the past couple of days.

Some highlights:

Did You See Me? - Quite beautiful before the melody is consumed by video game fuzz

Transitions - The perfect walking song

Tastes Good on th' Bun -- Amusing only because you can alienate your friends by driving them to stick hot Q-tips in their ears

Big Fat Fuck - This had to be a number that didn't make the cut for C&C

Gabrielle - A catchy little ditty. I can't quite name who it reminds me of musically.

What continues to amaze me is how diverse this band is.

Ween are such a great band, and awesome live.

I recently listened to All Request Live, really wonderful internet broadcast that they released on the chocodog label...with a hilarious version of pollo asado and Where'd the Cheese Go, coupled with really sweet versions of Stay Forever and Tried and True. I really love them.

"I fell in love today" is my highlight off of Shinola Vol. 1, but its all good. Let's hope vol.2 is on its way soon.

For those who want to hear some great live material from Ween, there are several shows online at the Internet Archive.

Many of the shows offer are available in both mp3 and FLAC.

There was one one that I wanted to recommend...

I'll post back here in a bit.

Check out 2006-08-01 from Minneapolis -- great show, and great sound.

Drove to Oklahoma to see them a couple weekends ago. 3 hours, with only a 10 minute break. Very, very impressive
