i finally bought 'the three e.p.'s' yesterday, after owning a collection of beta band mp3s for a couple of years, and i'm really, really happy with my purchase. the song structures are so abstract, that i didn't realize that a lot of my mp3s actually cut off mid-song. for instance, the monolith is a whopping 15 minutes, as opposed to the 4 or 5 minute mp3 i had.

for someone like me, and most of you should know my musical preferences by now...this is one of the best 'albums' i've ever heard. i say 'albums;, because it really is not an album at all. it's 3 e.p.'s on one cd. i think 'the patty patty sound' has the most potential to blow my mind over and over again, while the other two e.p.s are just damn catchy experimental songs.

"Dry the Rain" is one of the best pop songs ever written.

It kinda has an early 70's Pink Floyd feel (like a song off of "Meddle"), but updated for the 90's.
