"What we're trying to do is a bunch of shows with different artists that either we like or think would be an interesting show," Petty manager Tony Dimitriades tells Billboard. "One of the main things we're doing is a bunch of shows with Pearl Jam. We're also talking to John Mayer about doing some dates, as well as the Strokes."

not too into another heavy weight touring with them... guest appearances, yes... full shows, no
Yeah, I'm kinda curious as to how exactly they would do a full concert together. Maybe like 12-15 songs each with a mini-set of 4 or 5 songs together. It's definitely an intriguing idea.

Tom Petty puts on a great show, so I have no problem seeing him live again. I just hope it's note at the expense of short Pearl Jam shows. Last time I saw them was with the Rolling Stones and I'm really looking for some full length shows.
What about something like PJ did with Cheap Trick, where each band opened for each other a couple of times? Maybe two nights in each city with each band headlining once?

I guess your emoticon says it all
As long as I get to see PJ a few other times by themselves, I think it would be pretty cool to see a joint show with Petty.
One thing about Petty though is that I don't think he switches up his setlist too much from show to show - at least he didn't when I saw him twice on the same tour 6 or 7 years ago.

hopefully pj doesn't do the whole second leg with petty. just a handful of shows here and there would be cool.
agreed, wouldnt mind a few special shows with some collaborations, similar to the PJ/Robert Plant adventure at HOB, but I wont go see them together more than once or twice. I think Petty tickets are pretty steep, and its not worth it for a one hour set from PJ.
