A friend recommended him to me a long time ago, worth a try? I've heard he's unbelievable at the guitar. Any fans around?

Keller is a super talented guitarist... however i'm not too big on his songwriting style... just a bit to quirky/weird for me.

Yeah, Keller Williams is pretty cool. I've had many many opportunities to see him live but passed every time, and I kind of regret it. He's an icon in the whole "jam" scene (which is such a bad term) and while I don't listen to his music outside of concerts, I usually try to see his type of thing live. Jam bands are always better live than on record, and when it comes down to it, its still not saying a whole lot...still good music though.

He plays in Austin a lot. I've seen him a couple times and first let me say this about his music: I think it's really an acquired taste. I love that acoustic stuff, but his songwriting takes a little while to get into. I have all of his stuff and if you're interested in some purchases, buy his live cd "Stage" first. He has HEAVY jazz roots and most of his songs are infused with some kind of either old school or new school jazz beats.

He plays by himself most of the time and just uses a looping machine to create the full band sound. He's an amazing musician though, so if you're into that kind of acoustic/jazz/badass sound, then I'd check him out. He's different (and awesome) for sure.

i'll take Keller's buddy Martin Sexton over hiim (well they've played some shows together, dunno how good of "friends" they are anyway).

Martin's voice is one of the best i've ever heard live, not to mention he's a damn talented guitarist too (plays both a bassline & lead at the same time). probably the most talented solo artist i've ever seen live, he's the complete package.

I don't really like his studio material, it's a bit too out there for me. He's incredible live though - very, very entertaining. So yeah, I can't suggest an album, but I do suggest going to his show if it comes to your area.
