Dont really know his music, but the guy apparently looks down on women and wont even shake hands with them. Im sure he will take money from them for CDs or tickets or what not, but I have no use for an asshole like this no matter what his music sounds like.

I don't know the details, but Orthodox Jewish men aren't allowed to touch women who aren't their wife. Also, they can't touch their wife during menstruation.

I do. Its disguised in religion but its still looking down on woman. I have no use for the guy. Im sure he can accept their money during menstruation though.

I dont care what is has to do with. Radical muslims deprive woman of basic rights, is that ok because it has to do with their religion?

Im sorry, I think religion has provided a lot of great thing to the world. But I also think religion in general has caused far more bias and intolerance than any other factor. If you think Im going to applaud intolerance because its a guys religious beliefs then yoru mistaken. It that makes me ignorent then so be it, id rather be ignorent than an intolerant asshole anyday.

I just find it extremely disrespectful. Its ok if we disagree on this, at least your respectful about it unlike that other assuming asshole. I just dont like the guy and have no use for him, thats just me. I just posted it because it was relevant to the conversation. No one seemed to be aware of why he would choose not to touch women, myself included, so I was just providing some information.

I think those beliefs are pretty outdated myself, but I'm not going to defame Matisyahu by saying he looks down on women which probably isn't true at all. If anything, those beliefs project more of a negative image on men.. saying they can't touch a woman without it leading to sin/sexual acts.

Ok, understand. But isnt this the exact same mindset as to why women in Islamic countries are kept in Berkhas? I dont think not shaking a hand is nearly extreme obviously, but its the same mindset in my opinion, and extremely outdated in my opinion.

look, i'm not a big fan of religion myself, but dismissing something outright by saying it's "outdated" is simply stating your own thoughts & morals on the matter. what may be "outdated" to us, might seem perfectly normal to those who believe in such beliefs/religions. why do people feel the need to try and change everyone's way of thinking that doesn't agree with their own?
