It certainly sounds strained. He needs to stop smoking. But it's got intensity and energy so I'll take it.

A few of the songs sound melodic. Unemployable and parachutes anyway. Even in WWS. Comatose isn't too melodic but it wouldn't work if it was.

Comatose Ed sounds like its a 1995 show, which isnt nec. good. I like the song however

most of the ed's voice threads got consolidated. I figured a new album entitles it to a new one. We can always merge it later. :)

Sound strained but probably as good as he can do right now. Plus the smoking. I'm loving this album. I am not let down at all. I was getting worried after RA, that he couldn't lay down the vocals the way he used to but I'm really happy with what I'm hearing.

I think he purposely went for an intense sounding vocal. All you have to do to be reassured he still has his pipes is listen to any boot from '05. He still sounds pretty damn good to me.

I think you guys are jumping to conclusions assuming the smoking has affected his singing. I've smoked for 10 years and I still sound great, just ask my car.

his voice sounds real aggressive which is good, though its really like wobbly if you get me? like hes struggling to do it
even in unemployable it sounds like he's losing breath instead of the smooth transition he used to have

I though Ed quit smoking.

yeah, just like i stopped masturbating...

i do think Ed's voice sounds pretty strained on a few songs (Comatose for one, but it works for that track), and Parachutes he's trying too hard to hit that higher register at times, doesn't work for me.

i'm hoping that the mastered versions sound a lot less raw/dry, cuz i LOVE Ed's vox on Unemployable a lot.

that comparison to Comatose and the '95 tour is dead on.

He tried but obviously didn't. I saw him on the side of the stage at Borgata smoking like a chimney.

no, it is not, but it is fair to say on Comatose it sounds like 95.
