While the film does say it is a true story, I have heard otherwise. Can anyone confirm that it is a true story?

You've got Fargo mixed up with The Big Lebowski.

They're both brilliant, but the Big Lebowski actually happened. It just happened in Ft. Worth, not LA.

The Big Lebowski was a little overrated, but still genius.

Why would they lie?

Its a good movie, it seems not as good on the E channel since its heavy edit and the pacing is bad.
