By the way, the Twins should be greatly improved this season.
Projected Starting Lineup:
1) Shannon Stewart RF (solid leadoff man, needs to bat around .300)
2) Luis Castillo 2B (huge upgrade at second base)
3) Joe Mauer C (future perenial all-star. The future is now)
4) Rondell White DH (looking to fill veteran RBI man role)
5) Torii Hunter CF (solid bat. gold glove. the heart and soul of the team)
6) Justin Morneau 1B (looking to become the Twins first 30 HR man since 1987. Has 40 HR potential)
7) Tony Batisti 3B (upgrade at 3B. good bat. weak glove.)
8) Michael Cuddyer/ Jason Kubel RF (Kubel will be starting by all-star break)
9) Jason Bartlett SS (rookie needs to show consistancy to stay in everyday lineup)
Starting Pitchers:
Johan Santana (best pitcher in the AL)
Carlos Silva (fewest walks per 9 in baseball a year ago)
Brad Radke (very solid #3)
Scott Baker (looking to make his mark on the big leagues)
Kyle Lohse (needs to live up to his talent to keep spot in rotation)
Relief Pitchers:
Joe Nathan (back to back all-star)
Juan Rincon (could be a closer on half the big leagues teams)
Jesse Crain (12 wins out of the bull-pen a year ago)
Francisco Lariano (next Johan Santana.Star in the making)
Reserves:
Reuben Sierra OF/DH (Veteran switch hitter off the bench is always a plus)
Lew Ford OF (delagated to bench duties. can fill in in all outfield spots)
Mike Redmond C (solid backup catcher. hit over .300 last season)
Juan Castro IF (Twins' starting SS in 2005)

unless it comes from morneau, i don't see a power bat in that lineup.

I don't consider him the long term answer at 3rd, but those are pretty decent power numbers over the last 8 years.
.318
.335
.328
.307
.251
.305
.309
.270
.272
Batista's OBPs. Wretched even by middle infield standards. Batista also has the distiction of being one of the rare players that can smack 25+ HRs and still slug under .400. He's going to make a whole lot of outs while doing the one thing he can do at the plate. He would be an excellent pick for the Alfonso Soriano All Stars
Rondell White in the #4 spot? Unless Santana pitches every day, Twins will finish in 3rd place.

i hope the twins do show improvement, but i'm worried about no one stepping up at short stop or at lefty relief. plus, everyone is right - batista blows.

lol, I actually use to really like the Royals. They had a farm team here in Charleston a while back and I worked at the ballpark. I watched them over the next few years just to see if any players that I knew would make the majors. It was pretty cool when one actually did. It was like, "Hey I use to hit on that guy and sell him peanuts!"
