If your team played every team like they play the Devils, you'd be upper echelon of the standings. You have played seriously great defense all year vs. us.
And you also know the key to success against New Jersey: Put in a third-string goalie.
Sorry... this was meant for the NHL thread, but I missed the net too...

He's got one as far as I'm concerned... he just can't stay healthy...
And he's got another in the makings...

He'll be fine. Can't wait until the guy signs his contract and gets his C.
He's really a different type of player, and seems to get support and respect from all his other teammates.
But it will be interesting to see what kind of decision Lou makes about a guy like Brylin, who is making an awful lot of dough for the role he fills. I'm afraid of the tough decision, and afraid that it won't be made. Catch-22. Or Catch-18.

Leafs fans are some of the most knowlegable hockey fans in the world, we certainly do not suck. Just our team does

well, one outta three ain't bad!!
watch it guy...after this season ottawa's gonna lose one of redden or chara, and things may not be so peachy anymore....
ah well. we'll always have those 4 playoff series to gloat over...
Dude, there are 6 rookies who are REGULAR'S on our team...
People said the same about Hossa. Yes we will go down in terms of talent, but guess what, it won't be as bad as the leafs. We'll still compete at an elite level...

yeah they did play well against the devils. one of the best games by any teams this year.
i actually think it's better long term if they miss the playoffs. they'll finally realize something is wrong.
I think they've finally caught notice whether they make it or not. Most of the old guys won't be back and more young guys will be brought in to fill the roles rather than high-priced veterans. I think they've got a good enough core and the young guys have enough talent and desire that they can compete while still building for the future... kind of like the Rangers this year.
