When WOULD be the right time to capitalize on the deaths of those passengers? As soon as you decide it's OK to make a movie, I don't think it matters when you make it.

we already had a "made for TV movie" about "The Flight the Fought Back". i wanted to throw up.
my brother was living in NYC on 9/11 and i could not reach him for hours. he was standing on top of his apartment building and saw the people jumping out of the towers. one of his friends is really fucked up now because he was even closer to the towers, and he thought he could see the faces of the falling people, that he could hear their screams, and that he could hear the thumps of the people falling from the towers.
we don't need any 9/11 movies in this decade, thank you. the scars are still too fresh.

That's horrible. I'll never forget hearing those sounds on TV which the people made when they hit the gound
As for the 9/11 movies... I dunno. If I was an American and especially a New Yorker I don't think I'd appreciate them. Especially if they make it like a Hollywood movie, full of orchestral swells and God-Bless-America tub-thumpings.
Sounds like they are going for a pretty uncomprimising movie. Apparently they got permission from all the famlies involved and made the actors wear the same clothes as the people did on 9/11, plus 10% of the box office goes to some memorial fund.

one movie that i think people should see is loose change. its very disturbing and imo has very valid points about political events and theories that led to 9/11. look for yourself, if you like what you see, spread it to others:

if it was solely a charity type thing i think i'd be okay with it. like if everything except production costs/whatever it costs to make a movie/etc went to a memorial fund or a number of charities i think it'd be alright. i do not think that the actors/directors/etc. should make money off of it though. i mean, i realize it's going to take up some of their life and time, but tough shit. but that won't happen. it'll be big at the box office and the money will be rolling in.
like B said, when is it alright to capitilize on the deaths and catastrophies of others?
