When WOULD be the right time to capitalize on the deaths of those passengers? As soon as you decide it's OK to make a movie, I don't think it matters when you make it.

we already had a "made for TV movie" about "The Flight the Fought Back". i wanted to throw up.

my brother was living in NYC on 9/11 and i could not reach him for hours. he was standing on top of his apartment building and saw the people jumping out of the towers. one of his friends is really fucked up now because he was even closer to the towers, and he thought he could see the faces of the falling people, that he could hear their screams, and that he could hear the thumps of the people falling from the towers.

we don't need any 9/11 movies in this decade, thank you. the scars are still too fresh.

That's horrible. I'll never forget hearing those sounds on TV which the people made when they hit the gound

As for the 9/11 movies... I dunno. If I was an American and especially a New Yorker I don't think I'd appreciate them. Especially if they make it like a Hollywood movie, full of orchestral swells and God-Bless-America tub-thumpings.

If it's a pseudo-action film that is going to star Bruce Willis as a fire chief and be Jerry Bruckheimer bullshit, then it is indeed too soon.

However, if it's a film examining the the lead up too and aftermath of the attacks, and is more psychological and poignant, than I'm all for it.

Sounds like they are going for a pretty uncomprimising movie. Apparently they got permission from all the famlies involved and made the actors wear the same clothes as the people did on 9/11, plus 10% of the box office goes to some memorial fund.

one movie that i think people should see is loose change. its very disturbing and imo has very valid points about political events and theories that led to 9/11. look for yourself, if you like what you see, spread it to others:

loose change, 2nd edition, on video google:

Too soon for me.

I can't really look back and that day and think "How entertaining would THIS be on the big screen!?!?!?!"

In the Aritocrats they show Gilbert Gotfied deliver an Aristocrats joke regarding 9/11 and someone in the audience yells "too soon"....

I will not watch flight 93 since its still fresh as someone mentioned...

also its difficult to make an unbiased film about this subject exploring multiple view points due to a huge backlash....

Actor in September 11 movie says denied entry to U.S

I guess his portrayal was too believable.

Yeah, but that took place in October 2001 in NYC.

if it was solely a charity type thing i think i'd be okay with it. like if everything except production costs/whatever it costs to make a movie/etc went to a memorial fund or a number of charities i think it'd be alright. i do not think that the actors/directors/etc. should make money off of it though. i mean, i realize it's going to take up some of their life and time, but tough shit. but that won't happen. it'll be big at the box office and the money will be rolling in.

like B said, when is it alright to capitilize on the deaths and catastrophies of others?

It was a good joke, even if it was insanely stupid timing. Plus, it led to one of the funniest rants I've ever seen by any comedian.
